Ahead of the Kogi State governorship election, the Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress has cleared 28 aspirants who had picked the nomination forms.
The primaries is slated for August 29, 2015 at the Lokoja Township Stadium.
Speaking with newsmen after receiving his certificate of clearance in Abuja, Monday, frontline aspirant,Prince Abubakar Audu said “Against the expectations of nay-sayers, doubting minds and rumor mongers, I have been officially screened and cleared to embark on this rescue mission.
I hereby urge you all my dear friends to walk and work with me.
Together with our hands together we can deliver our dear state from systemic stench, undevelopment and backwardness Together we CAN!!!”
Other aspirants who scaled through the screening exercise are Chief Tim Nda Diche,Alh Yahaya Bello , Senator Nicholas Ugbane, Senator Nurudeen Abatemi and others.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alh. Lai Mohammed said the party was ready for the Kogi Poll.
In his words: ” We see the Kogi governorship election as a platform to offer the people of the state a credible alternative. The reports we are getting from the state is encouraging and we hope to build on the momentum to achieve success”, he said.
